California Supply Chains Act

At Akolee Fashion House (“Akolee F.H.” or “Akolee”), we are committed to upholding the principles of ethical business practices and human rights across all our operations. We support the objectives of the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 (“the Act”) and strive to set a benchmark for fair labor and sustainable practices within the fashion industry.

Akolee F.H. carefully selects its suppliers based on their excellence in delivering high-quality products and services, as well as their alignment with our ethical, social, and environmental values. Our partnerships are built on a foundation of integrity, honesty, and a shared commitment to sustainable and responsible business operations.

The enactment of the Act provides an opportunity for Akolee F.H. to reinforce its dedication to combating human trafficking and forced labor throughout its supply chain.

As a responsible fashion brand, we have embedded the Act’s standards into our daily operations, including our supplier selection processes.

The key measures we undertake in this area include the following:

Supplier Verification

Akolee F.H. has established a Supplier Code of Conduct (“the Code”), which sets minimum, non-negotiable standards in the areas of health and safety, labor practices, environmental responsibility, and business ethics. All suppliers and their subcontractors involved in manufacturing Akolee F.H. products are required to agree to and comply with the Code. Regular audits may be conducted to ensure adherence to these standards.

Supplier Audits

Suppliers identified as high-risk, based on factors such as location and business volume, are subject to detailed audits. These assessments ensure compliance with both the Code and international labor standards, such as Social Accountability International’s SA8000, which promotes improved working conditions worldwide.

Supplier Certification

Suppliers are required to formally commit to the Code, ensuring their practices align with our values and principles.

Accountability and Corrective Measures

Akolee F.H. takes swift action when instances of non-compliance with the Code are identified. We reserve the right to require corrective measures and, if necessary, terminate relationships with suppliers who fail to meet our standards.

Employee Training

Akolee F.H. ensures its employees operate in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and adhere to internationally recognized principles such as those outlined by the International Labor Organization and the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

As we continue to grow, Akolee F.H. remains steadfast in evolving our policies and practices to reflect our unwavering commitment to ethical business principles, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
